Ticket to the moon

At Linz Central Station and Vienna Western Station, a showcase (metal/glass construction) is installed. In measures corresponding to the usual counter or information desk at terminals and airports, it is situated near the ticket counters in the main hall of the station. Below the prominently placed NASA logo, «Fahrkarten/Tickets» are advertised. A glance inside the void of the box displays a floor covered with red soil, resembling pictures of the surface of Mars. Connotations beyond the real are evoked.

Westbahnhof, Wien und Hauptbahnhof, Linz 2007
Am Linzer Hauptbahnhof und am Westbahnhof in Wien wird eine Schaubox (Metall/Glaskonstruktion) aufgestellt. Sie hat die Maße eines durchschnittlichen Verkaufs- oder Info-Standes, wie man sie an Bahnhöfen oder Flughäfen findet, und steht nicht unweit der Fahrkartenschalter in der Haupthalle des Bahnhofs. Unter dem sofort ins Auge fallenden Logo der NASA werden an diesem Stand «Fahrkarten/Tickets» angekündigt. Ein Blick durch die Glasscheibe ins Innere der sonst leeren Box zeigt einen roten Sandboden, der an die Oberfläche des Mars erinnert. Konnotationen jenseits der Realität stellen sich ein.
